Easy NINO Terms and Conditions

  1. I do not currently have a National Insurance Number and wish to apply to be registered for one
  2. I declare that the information given is correct and complete
  3. I understand that if I give information that is incorrect, action may be taken against me.
  4. I have not successfully applied for a National Insurance Number am not waiting to be notified of the outcome of a previous application for a National Insurance Number.
  5. I agree to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) contacting those persons or organisations detailed within this application form to confirm the details I have supplied in my application for a National Insurance Number.
  6. If applicable- I also agree to the Department for Work and Pensions and HM Revenue & Customs contacting the Department of Social and Family Affairs in the Republic of Ireland to confirm details held on their computer system.
  7. The NI Number will normally be advised within 6-8 weeks of the customer attending the National Insurance Interview or completing and returning the forms by post.
  8. 6-8 weeks is the standard turnaround time, however delays caused by the Department for Work and Pensions due to system faults and/or industrial action are beyond our control and could delay your application.
  9. If you have a UK Visa sticker in your passport your application may be randomly selected for auditing by DWP. This means you may be required to attend an appointment in your area. If this occurs, there may be delays to your application. You will need to attend the appointment to obtain your NI Number. If you need to attend an interview and have a UK Visa sticker in your passport, please provide us with proof and we will refund your fee on application.
  10. Cancellation: If cancellation is requested after a DWP reference or serial number has been issued you will be subject to a £10 administrative charge. Any refunds are subject to managerial discretion.

  12. I acknowledge and agree to pay 1st Contact to provide value added guidance, support and assistance related to obtaining a National Insurance interview or forms. Booking the interview and/or requesting forms is provided free of charge by the Department for Work and Pensions.
  13. I understand that if I wish to change the date and/or time of my National Insurance Evidence of Identity interview, that due to Department for Work and Pension Data Protection rules 1st Contact will not be able to discuss your application and you will need to contact the Department for Work and Pension directly. You will not be refunded if you choose to alter the date or time of your interview.
  14. This website and service are operated by 1st Contact Group and are in no way affiliated with, endorsed by or regulated by the Department for Work and Pensions, JobCentrePlus or Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs.
  15. In certain cases, HMRC will issue a cheque covering overpaid emergency tax to recent National Insurance Number applicants. The cheque may be sent to 1st Contact - in which case we will pay the emergency tax refund to you, less a GBP20 processing fee. Should you not want 1st Contact to process your cheque, please advise us by phone or email and we will return the cheque to HMRC and you will need to submit a claim to HMRC for the refund.
  16. There may be some circumstances (including, but not limited to, change of address and cases of non-delivered forms) when the Department for Work & Pensions will need to speak directly to the customer because of the UK Data Protection Act 1988. In these cases we cannot call on your behalf and the customer will need to call the Department for Work & Pensions.
  17. Customers should give careful consideration about which UK address to provide as part of the application. Customers should provide an address that will be valid from the time of application to at least 8 weeks later. Change of Address transactions with the Department of Work & Pensions may cause your application to be flagged as fraudulent and may cause delays and may result in customers having to attend an interview in order to authenticate their address details. 1st Contact reserves the right to levy an administration charge for address changes.
  18. Refer three (3) friends or colleagues and receive your Easy National Insurance application fee back. Your three friends or colleagues must first pay and have had their National Insurance application completed before you receive your money back.
